I teach;
I photograph

Proudly queer and oddly proud.

As a lens-based artist, I approach photography as a tool for documenting and reflecting on the politics of race and diversity, particularly as a queer person of colour. I believe that photographers are in a unique position to capture people in various states of being; it is the ultimate privilege of the photographer to capture and enshrine these states. I often cite the the (often conflicting) critical works of Susan Sontag and Diane Arbus, both written and visual, as a means to consider my approach to photography.

Outside of photography, I am a trained Primary school teacher who employs an evidence-based clinical approach to teaching in schools. In 2018, I assisted in the development of STEM rubrics for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, in partnership with the University of Melbourne.
